Lewis Wilkinson asked me to edit, sequence and create a book to feature his sensual, liquid and abstract photographs. His images explore a common everyday item – a glass bowl of soup. In the studio his imagination opened up when looking down, up, and through the surface of the soup. His images capture the every changing arrangements of abstract organic forms created by the fluid mix of water, seaweed and Miso. These landscapes and space like forms are viewed as if on the bottom of the ocean. This meditative and beautiful book is broken up into three chapters organized around Japanese ideas of space and art. This elegant 11 x 13 inches Blurb book has a gentle power and is visually intriguing. To view more of Lewis Wilkinson’s fine art photographs visit his website. http://www.uponreflection.com/
